The consequences of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) emergencies challenge national response capabilities to their maximum extent.

Responsibility for an effective first response to mitigate the consequences to lives, infrastructure and the environment remains essential. Enhancing preparedness through a multi-agency and multi-national approach is critical.
