Under the auspices of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, and the organization of the Libyan Higher Academy for Strategic Studies, the activities of the first forum for directors of national defense colleges were opened at the headquarters

of the National Defense College, under the slogan: "Arab national security - challenges of reality and future prospects".

The opening ceremony was attended by the Chief of General Staff, the Inspector General, the Commander of the Central Region, the President of the Libyan Higher Academy for Strategic Studies, a number of heads of specific staffs, bodies, departments, military colleges, and  the number of Libyan army officers, and a number of military attaches from friendly and brotherly countries.

Directors of colleges and higher institutes of national defense colleges in (Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania, Iraq, Yemen, and Sudan) participated in the forum.

A welcoming speech was given to the participating delegations and guests by the Director of the National Defense College, and the President of the Libyan Higher Academy for Strategic Studies delivered a speech in which he welcomed the distinguished guests and praised the importance of holding scientific forums and fruitful cooperation between all Arab countries.

The Chief of General Staff also gave a speech in which he welcomed the brothers, directors of the Arab National Defense Colleges, and their concern for the importance of Arab national security, and the challenges represented by terrorism, organized crime, and cyber-attacks, stressing the importance of exchanging experiences and listening to viewpoints, to preserve national security. Which includes economic, political and security aspects.

Thereafter, the floor was given to the participating delegations in order respectively.

After the opening ceremony, a dialogue session was held in which the attendees discussed the future of joint Arab national security, the challenges and risks facing the peoples and countries of the region, and the proposed solutions and ideas to coordinate joint action and exchange expertise, experiences and views among Arab defense colleges.
