The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, attended, on Wednesday morning, at the headquarters of the Libyan Higher Academy for Strategic Studies, the graduation
ceremony of students in the first session of the Higher War College and the National Defense College, in the presence of Assistant Chief of Staff of the Nation, a number of chiefs of the specific staff and bodies, directors of military departments, officers of the Libyan army, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, and the Secretary-General of the General Intelligence Service.
The Libyan Higher Academy for Strategic Studies is the highest higher military educational institution that officially opened its headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, in August 2022. It consists of the Command and Staff College, the Higher War College, the National Defense College, and a Center for Strategic Studies, Documentation and Information.
The Academy grants certificates and academic degrees in the fields of (Fellow of the Higher War College, Fellow of the National Defense College, Fellow of the Libyan Higher Academy for Strategic Studies, Doctor of Philosophy in Military Sciences and Doctor of Philosophy in National Strategy). It is worth noting that the Fellowship is equivalent to a Master’s degree in some countries and is an academic degree that combines... Between the scientific and applied functional aspects in the field of strategy and national security to prepare army leaders.
The graduation ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by a blessed recitation of clear verses from the Holy Quran. A visual presentation was presented about the Libyan Higher Academy for Strategic Studies and its affiliated colleges, the tasks assigned to it, its goals, components, and the scientific departments it contains.
Then there was a speech by the Director of the National Defense College, a speech by the President of the Libyan Higher Academy for Strategic Studies, and a speech by the Director of the High War College, where the gave his speech in which he welcomed the Chief of General Staff, his assistant, and the distinguished guests. The two colleges, their tasks, and the courses held in them were also introduced. They thanked the Ministry of Defense and the Chief of General Staff for their continued efforts and support for the Academy and its affiliated colleges. They also addressed the graduates on the necessity and importance of continuing to seek knowledge and instead of all effort and giving in order to raise their capabilities and scientific potential, while working with the knowledge they acquired for the benefit of the military institution. And the homeland.
In the same context, there was a speech by the President of the Libyan Higher Academy for Strategic Studies, in which he praised the role played by the Ministry of Defense and the Chief of General Staff in advancing the military institution, and their support for the Academy to carry out its assigned tasks, and develop and advance its performance. He also congratulated the graduates on this success and praised their efforts in academic achievement throughout their studies at the academy.
Then came the speech of the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General: Muhammad Al-Haddad, in which he expressed his gratitude for the dedicated role that the Academy achieves through the work it undertakes and its efforts, confirming the clear endeavor of those in charge
of it to develop and advance its work, which has become evident and tangible through its outputs. He also praised the graduates and their pursuit of achievement and self-development, wishing them, those in charge of the academy and its faculty members more success and success for the benefit of the military institution and the nation.
One of the academy officers gave a speech to the faculty members, and the studying officers participated in a speech on the occasion, expressing their pride in the army and doing everything in their power to advance it.
It is noteworthy that the study program at the National Defense College is an integrated study program for students (officers and civilians) to qualify for national policy makers, strategy and national decision-making through a progressive scientific methodology that addresses aspects of strategic planning, formulation of national goals and interests, design of multiple national strategies and policies in a way that serves the nation’s highest interest and follow-up. Implementing it within the framework of the state agencies and its sovereign military and civil institutions.
The Higher War College, which only military officers enroll, works to qualify senior army officers to assume leadership positions and senior military positions, and to create continuing generations of competent military leaders with the ability in leadership, planning and management to raise the level of efficiency of army units to a distinguished level to ensure the nation’s elevation and sovereignty.
The Libyan Higher Academy for Strategic Studies is gaining great political and military importance, as it is considered a prominent turning point and a qualitative step towards building and qualifying military leaders on modern scientific foundations, a clear doctrine, affiliation and bias towards the homeland.
